In collaboration with A Chance To Dance, the AEC is offering a Dance/Pom-Line Class specifically designed for dancers with special needs! Our "D.R.E.A.M." (Dancers Reaching Excellence through Arts and Movement) pom team is for dancers ages 8 - young adult.

This class is specifically tailored for students with down syndrome, autism, and other developmental disabilities. This class will allow students to grow in self confidence, express emotion, and gain coordination all while having a ball and making new friends in a safe and friendly environment!

This class is a great way for children and young adults with special needs to get involved in an extracurricular activity while improving motor skills and social skills. Dance/Pom Line can also be a unique and effective way to reach students with special needs because it is nonverbal.

​

Through simple patterns, sequencing, and repetition, students will learn the basics of movement, rhythm, and pom dance. This class is specifically designed for children who can independently follow simple instructions and do not need one-on-one support.
